Which came first, the web or Facebook?

I hope you answered correctly.

Because successful businesses build mind-blowing websites. Why? The web is the only place where people can find you without you having to directly market to them. Mobile-friendly, content-driven sites with SEO and keyword search in mind help drive customers right to you.

Websites should do more than just give information. They should provide call to actions to engage visitors in your services…your products…ultimately, your brand.

Visitors may want to order take-out. Subscribe to your mailing list. Book a hotel room. Sign up for dance class. Register a gym membership. Visitors come to your site needing, and wanting, to be able to actually do something.

Your website is your book cover to the world. If the cover doesn’t impress potential clients, they won’t even open the book.

While I’m 100% not against Facebook pages, they are not a long-term alternative to having a kickass web presence. Facebook pages are perfect for having conversations with your customers and directing them to your website to “close the deal,” but they cannot, and should not, replace a well-crafted site.

Face it. A quality website is the foundation on which to build on all other marketing efforts and to integrate your social media marketing. Every component of your business should lead back to your website. Yes, it really is that important.

Jenna was the only person I trusted to create a Chamber site that served our needs and brought us into the 21st century. The final site didn’t just meet my expectations – it went above and beyond what our community needed, and I am so proud of it and the hard work Jenna put into making it the absolute best!
