Branding. It’s the new buzzword, but the concept itself is not so new.
Branding is more than creating a logo. It’s about creating a visual identity for yourself, a strategy of how you will build, promote and grow your business. It’s about consistency, so you don’t confuse your customers. It’s about telling your story in a very visual way, so that others easily recognize and understand who you are and what you stand for.
And all other design components for your business should remain true to your brand. Good business design (think postcards, brochures, e-newsletters and graphics + a bajillion other ideas) are an extension of your brand. These aren’t just products to check off on a to-do list; they are sophisticated tools that serve to develop, grow and maintain your client base.
Remember, a solid, consistent branding strategy creates trust and loyalty from clients, and solidifies you as an expert in your field. If you make it easy for clients to know, recognize and understand you, then you make it easy for them to trust and believe in you.
